Africa Mission Trip

by Jeff Kimes - Executive Pastor

It has been almost 6 months since Rob and Laura Flaherty moved to Africa to serve as missionaries. They are transitioning well and have experienced a lot of new things. As their sending church, we have been able to pray for them and encourage them along the journey. Last week in VBS, Rob and their son Ben were able to FaceTime with one of the classes during their mission rotation. Ben was able to share with his classmates about living in Africa and some of the things he has experienced.

Now CHBC has a chance to partner with Rob and Laura in a mission effort to teach people in remote villages about biblical principles of the gospel. The IMB will provide us with all teaching materials in advance and Rob and his teammates will be with us on the trip. They will also provide translators as we work with people in the villages. The dates for the trip are August 28 – September 8 and the cost will be around $2500. Because of the logistics involved with getting the group and supplies to the locations, the group has to be small in size. For this first trip we are looking at a group of 5 or 6 and 2 of those spots have been filled. What do you need to go on the trip? You will need a current passport that is good through at least April 2025. You will need a typhoid shot and malaria medication, as this is what the CDC recommends. If you are interested or have any questions about the trip please let me know. You will need to sign up ASAP so we can secure flight information.

God Bless,

Jeff Kimes
