Do you ever think about a place that you long for? A place that you look forward to but have never been? For me that place is New Zealand or Kenya. Other people look forward to going back somewhere they’ve already been once or many times; places like Branson or Disney. I personally get excited about Seattle.
I know that I have been there what feels like a hundred times. I see new things each time. But what I think I look forward to most is seeing the same things over and over. I love the familiarity of the sights, sounds, and smells. It feels like a home away from home. I love the fact that we get to partner with a church plant called the Dwelling Place. I love that the Pastor (Wes), is doing everything he can to spread the Gospel. I get most excited that we have a church that wants to support them in all kinds of ways.
There are also things that we long for that are right here with us. The biggest thing is home. Familiarity is huge. Mom’s mashed potatoes or the smell of warm cookies. A place where everything is good and right.
We are a church you can come home to. I love when I come and see familiar faces. I know I will hear from the Lord and that we will worship. Some other things that I treasure are the relationships and growth that we have. I love that Chisholm Heights is my home and I look forward to the days to come.
My hope and prayer is that you will be able to see Chisholm Heights as your home as well. Please know that you are valued, loved and welcome here.
