RUSTY STOWE: SR. ADULT MINISTER
In the book of Revelation Jesus is addressing the church in Laodicea and He tells them: "I know your deeds, that you are neither COLD nor HOT. I wish you were either one or the other. So, because you are LUKEWARM - neither HOT nor COLD - I will spit you out of My mouth." (Rev. 3:15-16)
Hot and cold may not make a big difference to you until your hot water tank at your house goes out. Speaking from personal experience this past week hot and cold really make a difference. Being without hot water, especially at this season of the year, causes you to make major adjustments in what you do around the house. The dishwasher is pretty much out of commission. Washing your hands like we are suppose to be doing these days is out. And a nice hot shower is absolutely out of the question. Lukewarm is not one of our options! You can choose either HOT or COLD but not lukewarm! Thanks to the quick response of a good plumber our new hot water tank has been installed and HOT water is back. Praise the LORD!
This year our church is going to be making strides to be as HOT after what the Lord has for us as ever. Our prayer should be that when Jesus looks at CHBC He sees a church on fire for the kingdom. As we continue to move through this COVID stuff, let's continue to move forward. Our movement may be "one-step-at-a-time" but at least we are moving!
May God never say to us, "because you are lukewarm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of My mouth." May we see people coming to the saving grace of our loving Lord because we are a church full of people on fire for Jesus!
