Mexico Mission Trip 2024

by Jeff Kimes - Executive Pastor

God is still moving in people’s lives south of the border. We took eleven people with us to the seminary in Mexico that we support. We were able to do some well needed maintenance, build a backdrop, and add lighting for their chapel services. We also focused on the married housing portion of the seminary. We replaced fans, fixed plumbing issues, and repaired screens and doors. The exciting thing is that the married housing is full. That means there are families on campus and that is always an exciting thing.

We were able to provide 2 evenings of VBS for the children in the area. There were about 30 children each night. The Gideon’s provided pocket Spanish New Testaments for each child to take home. Friday night, we were blessed to worship with Pastor Wilber Martinez, the pastor of a church plant in Zihuantanejo, Mexico, a church plant CHBC has supported for several years. He is a graduate from the seminary and is reaching people with the gospel. Saturday there were a few things to finish up at the seminary. While that was being done, Chris Watkins lead a workshop on effective ways to teach children the Bible and I led a workshop on small group ministry.

Thank you for your prayers and the opportunity that we have to work with our brothers and sisters in Mexico. We will be headed back down that way next year so if you are interested in going I would be happy to talk with you about the trip. We will be sharing more about the trip this Sunday evening at 6:00 pm so come hear all that the Lord is doing and has done in Mexico.

God Bless,

Jeff Kimes
