NORMAL?

RUSTY STOWE - SR. ADULT MINISTER

We have all been talking the past several months about what "normal" used to be. "Normal" refers to something that's typical or something that people do on a regular basis. But then there are those times, like the present, when our idea of normal gets hijacked and it causes us to panic and to go to Sam's and buy up all the toilet paper on the shelves! We are all asking "when will things get back to normal?" But eventually, we gather ourselves and we say things like, "well, I guess this is our NEW normal!"

But what is so appealing about "normal" after all? We know what to expect and we find comfort in it even if it is not good for us. As followers of Jesus Christ we are to pursue a life that is better than normal.

This Christmas season may not be "as normal" as you would like it. Family traditions may be altered this year. Some of your loved ones might not make it to your home for Christmas Eve. We are planning hard to make this Christmas as "normal" for us at CHBC as it has been, but the fact is, this Christmas will just be different!

God has blessed us and He will continue to bless us! Let us claim the words of the Apostle Paul when he challenged the Galatians "Not to become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Galatians 6:9)

Have a Merry Christmas and worship with us when you can!
