What does that mean?
The last few days and weeks that has been on a lot of our minds. But the question has been, are we going or are we not going? In reality we should always be on mission. The fact that we are on mission is not determined by a geographical location. Being on mission means we are actively engaging people with the gospel wherever we are.
In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus said,
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
When Jesus says “Go” He is not speaking of the once or twice a year that you might go on a mission trip but rather “as you are going”. As you go throughout your daily routine, whether going to work, going to school, on vacation, shopping, out with friends, wherever you are you are on mission. In the book of Acts we read the accounts of Paul’s 3 major missionary journeys, but Paul was always on mission whether he was under house arrest, in jail, or just traveling to a nearby town. He was always on mission.
Sometimes our mission trip plans change but that should never change our mission. We have been commanded to always be on mission, so don’t forget what your mission is. CHBC is a church home that exists to build a Great Faith in Jesus Christ in every person in Mustang, in Oklahoma, in the United States of America and the world. Pray and ask God to use you in the mission field He has placed you in, and as you go throughout your daily life.
