RESTORED

Dear Friend,

One of the great words of the Bible is one that means ‘to be brought back to our original state,’ i.e. to restore. Think of it. From the beginning pages of God’s Word, mankind is cast out and separated from God. But through the work of the Cross, the relationship is restored and brought back. You see it in a torn curtain, a lakeside breakfast, even in the final words of Jesus to His Church. Yes, through Christ, we are restored!

Now this is hardly on the same level as the redemptive work of our Savior, but things are being restored at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church. With caution, we are considering how we might be able to come back to some of the things we left behind, specifically things revolving around our Wednesday night schedule. On Wednesday night, August 19th, we will see if we can have our Wednesday night dinner in a manner that lets us follow the suggested protocols. It begins at 5:00 pm. At 6:00 pm, we’ll have Adult Bible Study, led by Rusty Stowe. We’ll have Choir Practice, Student Mid-Week, and Children’s Connect at 6:30 pm. Other small groups will also meet. We are going to do our best to see what Wednesdays can be in the days to come! I hope you can join us.

Of course, as we continue to move on into the Fall, we want to continue to minister to the

church family, especially to those who feel the need to stay home rather than go out in public. We want to continue to be a church they can come home to, and sometimes that means coming to them. We will continue to offer our online services, as well as our weekly question and answer time called CHBC Live at 6:00 pm on Wednesdays.

We are together, folks. We might have to work extra hard at it in these days, but work we will! Please let us know of any need you have. We want to try and minister together in the days ahead!

It’s a joy to be your pastor!
