THIS SUNDAY AT CHBC

May 20, 2020

Dear Church Family,

I recently experienced a whole new level of frustration that this COVID-19 virus has inflicted upon us. I hadn’t been to the store for a couple of weeks, and when I went last Friday, I found out that changes had been made: one-way directions in the aisles in Walmart. Seriously, I have a hard enough time navigating the right lanes in the parking lot, much less the store itself. Like we need one more thing to figure out these days!

In spite of all that, good days lay ahead of us as a congregation. We might be figuring out some new navigation as we respond to our situation, but soon you’ll be hearing about the exciting things in store for us this summer. We need a bit more time to get everything in order, but I believe the results will be worth waiting for.

Until that time, we continue to meet. Some will meet online. Others will meet on site. We will worship, pray, preach, and fellowship. We will continue to be the church. This Sunday? We look at a church in the community of Philadelphia. They were a small congregation that had an open door in front of them. God’s Church Triumphant is a church that is ‘unhindered’ in pursing God’s mission and plan for the fellowship. I am looking forward to sharing what the Lord has laid upon my heart. Remember, if you can’t participate with us online or it is still not a good time for you to attend in person, we will be glad to deliver a DVD of the service to you. Simply call the church office to let us know what you need.

This Sunday, in accordance with Phase II of Governor Stitt’s ‘Open Up And Recover Safely’ directive, we will be offering Extended Session for Birth through Three Year Olds during our morning worship service. It is one more step that makes it possible for the family to gather together!

Friends, thank you for your continued faithfulness in giving. Many are mailing in their checks, some are giving through their bank or through our online options, and some are bringing their tithes and offerings with them to church. Whatever avenue they use, those funds are being put to use to make sure our church continues to minister in these days. Again, thank you!

Finally, if you or someone you know has a need, could you let us know? We work to make sure those needs are met to the best of our abilities and resources.

Even in days like this, it is a joy to be your pastor!

Bro. Dave

I AM WITH YOU

Dear Friends, Can you remember the world before COVID-19? It was a world where you shook hands instead of touching elbows and where a smile was not hidden by a mask. We met face to face, not screen to
