Unto Us a Child is Born

by Robin Roady - Children's Coordinator

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends. Our family enjoyed a few days away in Branson enjoying the Fall scenery and maybe a few rollercoasters and yummy food. It was a wonderful time being together. We all have so much to be thankful for!

Now without further delay allow me to wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! The Christmas season is in full swing at CHBC! Our beautiful decorations have gone up all over the church. The Mustang Christmas Village is decorated and lit up, which always makes this season even more exciting! Our Village will run for the community on Tuesday 12/6, Thursday 12/8, Tuesday 12/13 and Thursday 12/15, but our CHBC Family Night will be held Wednesday 12/7. This is a special night when our PDO children will be singing a few songs and our Christmas Village Mayor will be joining us. A very important part of our Village is the “Living Nativity” scene. I am working on filling in 30-minute time slots for each Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6:00pm through 7:30pm. If your child, ages Kindergarten through 5th grade, would like to play the part of Mary or Joseph please contact me as soon as possible so I can get their names down. This is the first scene people will see when they come into the Village. It’s an important part of the Village and many people look forward to seeing it every year!

The Christmas season can be very hectic and busy. My prayer is that you will take some time to truly enjoy what the season is all about, the birth of our Jesus Christ. Enjoy the sights, the smells, the sounds of Christmas but let’s not forget the true reason for the season….Jesus!

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Merry Christmas!

Robin
