WHAT IS HEAVEN LIKE?

Dear Friends,

As I mentioned Sunday, the things of our culture are changing, not over months or years, but from one day to the next. We are living in a fluid time; our calendar is just one headline away from being rewritten! Yet through it all, God ministers to us day by day, moment by moment. His faithfulness and trustworthiness are the unchanging bedrock of our daily lives!

This Sunday, I will be preaching a message from Revelation 21:1-8 entitled “What is Heaven Like?” This world has an expiration date. We don’t know when it is. We can’t put it on the calendar. Nevertheless, we know it is set by One who was there before the beginning. And when all of this world is over and done, those of us who have trusted in Jesus will begin a new existence as residents of the Heavenly Realm. What a day that will be! Yet, the question stands before us: “What of Heaven can we experience today?” If you’re unable to attend, hopefully you can watch us online. If not, you should be on our list to receive a DVD of the service. If you can’t watch us live and you’ve not been receiving a copy of the service on DVD, give the church office a call. We’ll do our best to get you taken care of.

Sunday after our morning worship service will be an exciting time for our church family. For those who are able to come, our Deacon Body will be hosting a meal in our Activities Center. We’ve thought about calling it a Block Party or a Tailgate Gathering, but in light of the circumstances of today, we felt it best to move it indoors and just call it a Fellowship Meal. There is no program and no agenda. It is just a time when our Deacons will serve and the congregation will fellowship. Of course, proper precautions are being taken, but they will not hinder us. I hope you can join us!

Vacation Bible School will look different this year as well. Instead of happening in a single week, our Children’s leadership will be offering VBS on Wednesday nights beginning on July 8th, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Please go to the church website for more information and to sign up!

Once again, please let us know of any need you have. We want to be your church during these days. Let us know how we can best do that very thing.

It’s a joy to be your pastor!

Dear Friends, I prayed for our church family today. I prayed about several things. One, I prayed for safety. As we begin to open up, both at church and throughout our community, we know there might be
