That old saying that most are familiar with goes like this. “When the going gets tough the tough get going.” Sounds like a great motto on a locker room wall. It describes a person that takes adversity head on when it comes, and fights their way through that adversity with all the strength they can muster. But is that the way we, as followers of Jesus, are supposed to act when adversity comes our way?
Isaiah 25: 1 O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; For You have worked wonders, plans formed long ago with perfect faithfulness.
When adversity comes in the believer’s life it gives us the opportunity to lean on our Savior and Lord to carry us through. We are not in this struggle alone and it does not surprise God. From the beginning of time He has had a plan. Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. He wants us to lean on Him and allow Him to reveal Himself to others as He works through the adversity in your life.
Adversity will come and we do not have to handle it on our own. Trust the Lord to walk with you in times of adversity.
