into the unknown

RUSTY STOWE

Many of us remember the names Captain Picard, Data, Worf, No.1 and the rest of the crew of the Starship Enterprise. We can remember when the captain would get his headings and then give the command “engage” and the Enterprise was off into unknown galaxies. As we are on the doorstep of a brand new year, we too might think we are on a journey into the “unknown”. Be assured that God wants us as a church and as individuals to be successful in the coming year. He wants us to be MARVELOUS not mediocre. He wants us to be EXTRAORDINARY not ordinary. He wants us to be RADIANT and HAPPY not discouraged and discontented.

God made a promise to a guy named Joshua that He would lead him even though Joshua had never been down this path before. We sing a song that says, “God will make a way when there seems to be no way.” May this song be your theme song for the year 2020. God reminds us that He will give us everything we NEED in the new year and he will make your heart to sing if we give Him FIRST place in our lives. This is an exciting time for our church to look at a new decade and to know that we will be on this trip together. We are setting sail into the “unknown.” May we all get on board and support Bro. Dave and the staff as they lead us.

Just a reminder that the first week of March , March 1-4, we will have our annual Sr. Adult Led Revival. Our evangelist this year is Dr. Tommy Kiker from Leesville, LA and our musician is Rev. Jerry Boyd from Evergreen Baptist Church in Bixby, OK. This promises to be a great team, so mark your calendars and begin now to pray for this week.

I look forward to seeing you in your place of service this coming week.
