ONE WKND

by Chris Watkins - Student Minister

ONE WKND - ONE God. ONE Way. ONE Family. ONE Mission.

Ephesians 4:4-6: There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope at your calling— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.

As you know, our big student event is just around the corner. I wanted to take a moment to fill you in on our theme for this year and also to ask you to begin to pray for us as we head into this meaningful time in the life of our student ministry.

Have you ever thought about how one moment can define history? Or how one decision can change a life? We know that it only takes one person to start a movement. There is power in one. And the power of one resounds through Scripture, and by studying ONE, our students will travel through the Word to discover a powerful message that God has for them:

There is ONE God.

ONE way to Him.

ONE family united under His banner.

And ONE mission we’ve been entrusted with.

The study we’re going to be working through is called ONE and it’s an awesome look at the essential truths of our faith. ONE will teach your teenager a few truths: First, that there is one God, the Creator of the universe and of you and me, and there is no other. Second, the absolute clearness of the Bible on the subject of how we get to God. Jesus Himself says no one can come to the one true God except through Him. Third, what happens to us when we do come to faith in God, namely that we’re welcomed into one giant, awesome family of Believers. Finally, our students will learn that we’ve been given one main mission: go and make disciples of all nations! As you can see, I’m pretty excited about what our students will be learning.

Please be praying for our ministry, our students, and our students' friends as we challenge them with this relevant, timely message from the Bible. Please keep in your prayers our host homes and family group leaders as well. Also, please be praying for Ryan Young as he prepares to teach during our worship services!
