Trust

by Jeff Kimes - Executive Pastor

To trust someone means to have confidence in them and to have a firm belief in their reliability. Trust can be built over time and be lost in a second. I remember when our kids where young and they wanted more freedom. As they proved themselves trustworthy, we gave them more freedom, but once they violated the trust we had given them their freedoms were restricted.

The great thing is that we can trust God with everything. He will never let us down.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

We can trust the Lord with everything we have and in every situation and He will never let us down. We may not understand at times but we are “not to lean on our own understanding.” We can’t see the big picture, God sees how it all works together. Verse 6 says “in all our ways acknowledge Him”, everything we do should point back to God. If we truly trust God we understand that He is in control. I am glad that things don’t always turn out the way I plan them and God shows me that His ways are higher than my ways and His way works out a lot better than I ever thought mine would.

So trust the Lord because He is good and His love endures forever. That might be a good line for a song. : )

God Bless,

Jeff Kimes
